Geophysicist/ Seismic Interpreter

Job Responsibilities
Technical

Carry out 2D/3D seismic interpretation and produce structural/stratigraphic maps and frameworks to integrate seismic interpretations with geologic and engineering data.

Conduct quantitative/qualitative seismic attribute generation and analysis in sedimentary facies prediction and fracture identification to aid play exploration and reservoir characterization.

Utilize the full range of seismic attributes and inversion products to describe the size as well as the structural and stratigraphic complexity of the trap.

Quantifies exploration risk elements, such as trap and reservoir presence, seal integrity, and charge.

Petrophysicist

Job Responsibilities
Technical

Accountable for the interpretation and evaluation of petrophysical data to determine presence and type of hydrocarbons, fluid contacts, rock matrix lithological model and physical properties

Reviews reports, and coordinates with other team members to integrate petrophysical data and study results.

Coordinates and participates in formulating petrophysical contributions to exploration, appraisal, field development and reservoir studies. Includes establishing parameters and methodology; and liaising with contractors.

Presents petrophysical findings and recommendations to management as required.

Production Engineer

JOB OBJECTIVE

Maintain the system, standards, rules and workflows in relation to successful delivery of production engineering related work and projects following the widely accepted industrial best practice.

Provide professional advice to the Technical VP to improve the medium- and long-term planning of business development associated with production engineering.

Identify the challenges in production of oil and gas wells in our target areas through professional analysis, find and implement proven technologies from CNPC or CNPC partners to deal with them and guarantee smooth well production.

Carry out innovative research associated with production engineering to form the company’s proprietary strength.

Lead the efforts for the quality delivery of the production engineering related work and projects.

Chief Reservoir Engineer

Job purpose

The Chief Reservoir Engineer is accountable for Reservoir Engineering functional excellence throughout and for ensuring that reservoir engineering analyses are effectively integrated with other key disciplines, (particularly G&G and other Petroleum Engineering disciplines, but also wells, facilities, economics and commercial etc.).

The Chief Reservoir Engineer is a required participant in the functional review and assurance process; the incumbent will endorse (or not) investment proposals and provide expert advice from reservoir engineering points of view to enable Executive Committee to make investment decisions. In addition, the Chief Reservoir Engineer is accountable for classification and quantification of companywide/ asset-wide Discovered Resources (Reserves and Contingent Resources) and for preparation and maintenance of the Company’s documentation, backing up the reserves and resources reporting.

An important aspect of the Chief Reservoir Engineer’s role is to support the development of reservoir engineering personnel through his/her expert guidance and advice.

This is a highly visible role which involves routine contact with executive management and requires the ability to influence without (line) authority. The incumbent will not only be an expert reservoir engineer but also have high emotional intelligence and the ability to quickly form high quality working relationships in a variety of different cultural settings.

Experiences

Significant (20+ years) post graduate experience in upstream oil and gas (exploration, development, and production) with a key focus on reservoir engineering.

Expert reservoir engineer with significant hands-on experiences in all aspects of reservoir engineering including “Classical” analysis, PVT, SCAL, pressure transient analysis, material balance analysis, and reservoir simulation.

The ability to collaborate with other subsurface disciplines to quantify subsurface understanding (in uncertainty and risk) and formulate / recommend integrated subsurface workflows.

The ability to combine subsurface understanding with production systems constraints and ensure that this is proactively integrated with other disciplines (facilities, drilling, commercial, etc.).

Prior experience in calculating, classifying, aggregating, and reporting Discovered Resources in accordance with 2007 SPE PRMS.

Commercially aware. Prior experience in successful unitization and acquisition negotiations is an advantage.
